BNSF Railway and City of Gunter officials held a groundbreaking ceremony on March 12 for the Logistics Center North Dallas, a 944-acre multi-customer, multi-commodity industrial park located off State Highway 289 in Gunter, Grayson County. The facility sits roughly an hour north of Dallas and 30 minutes from Frisco. The Logistics Center North Dallas will be BNSF’s sixth logistics center in its national industrial development program. A development of this scale requires significant site preparation before any vertical construction begins. Internal roadway construction for high-volume freight movement, grading across nearly a thousand acres, drainage infrastructure, and road base for access drives and staging areas all move substantial aggregate across a multi-month construction window. Phase one construction running 19 months means sustained material demand in Grayson County through at least late 2027, with additional phases behind it.
The Grayson County corridor is already absorbing significant construction activity. Contractors active in Grayson, Collin, and surrounding North Texas counties are operating in a market where large industrial projects are competing for the same material and the same trucks as every other job in the area.
